Trelawny is located east of Montego Bay. The major road, the A1 runs parallel along the coastline all the way to Falmouth the capital. The route is not very scenic however getting into Falmouth you cannot help but appreciate the old world Georgian architecture, which are now faded but now tells of the history of days gone by.
Falmouth, Telwany was once a hustling port famous for the exporting of rum, sugar and molasses to Europe. Now it is just a fishing town and on Saturdays becomes a beehive of activity as weekends is the major shopping day for its residences. Most of the buildings are now falling to pieces but plans are afoot to restore this town and its buildings to make it another tourist attraction for visitors wishing to learn more about the island's past.
